Wilkins Public School Blog
Congratulations Eva

Ms Bollard, Principal
This Blog has been designed to keep our school connected as a community.

I hope to use this space to share stories and work produced by students, but to also help with practical organisation, such as new tasks, news updates, teacher absences and possibly things I haven't even thought about yet!

I look forward to seeing this blog evolve into a valuable shared resource.

Eva in Year 5 entered an art competition called; "Home is where the art is" not only was Eva shortlisted from a pool of over 5500 entries, she won her category!

Congratulations Eva, your home is where the art (and cake) is!

I really love the style of painting, you certainly demonstrate confidence in your brushstrokes.

I admire how the three main elements really stand out on your charcoal background.

You can see the other entires on the website.

A SNAPSHOT OF WILKINS
12th May, 2020

Dear Families,
We know that this interesting time has been quite challenging for families and teachers alike and we appreciate the efforts that everyone is going to in supporting our children. We also know that there are so many incredible things that have transpired since the beginning of this hiatus, some wonderful family traditions have started and amazing learning has happened in your homes. We at Wilkins Public School would like to capture that in a short video.
If you’d like to participate, please watch Mrs Bollard’s video (linked below) and consider her questions. We’d like you to consider how you’re feeling about the current global situation and your thoughts on learning from home. Think carefully about what you’ve enjoyed, what has been tough, what you’d like to preserve for the future and what you’re most looking forward to post COVID-19.
We then ask students, parents/carers and staff to respond to the questions in your chosen format. We feel it’s important to capture the feeling of our whole community at this moment in history.
You might like to:

-
Record a video response
-
Create a written response to the questions
-
Write your responses and read them in an audio recording
-
Take a photo or series of photos
-
Create an artwork to share your ideas
-
Consider any other way you’d like to respond
Please send any recordings or photographs to sarah.howard4@det.nsw.edu.au to be compiled into a video. If you’re filming on a phone or tablet device, please consider the area behind you (a blank wall or garden is a great backdrop) and try to block out any background noise if possible. If you create an artwork, you can either take a photo and email it to Ms Howard or drop it in at school and we will photograph it. Please submit all responses by 5pm on Friday 30th May.
Please note that Ms Howard will be compiling the responses in a video and that this will be shared publicly on our school website. If you would like to respond, but would prefer your response remain private, please indicate this when sending it in.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts,
Mrs Bollard & Wilkins Public School staff
